I will stamp all over 'serious combatant' Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I will break his face and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to really want to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

Despite these statements, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.

Jake Paul rather attacked former Joshua's opponent the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a Paul victory.

"[Paul] is better than Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.

Commercial Attraction

However, the relative newcomer is still one of boxing's largest financial successes, consistently making huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Difference

As the two fighters participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
